when i read through locke and marx i find that both offer something good to live by. i am not sure if i am more compelled to either one. Locke wants everyone to be equal. i think equality is very important. i also think that if you worked for what you had who is to say it is not fair for you to have it. my views were simple treat others how you would want to be treated. when you look at both of these principles i do not believe that either goes against that. the easiest way for me to live according to my own morals and these is to just adopt certain ones from myself, locke, and marx.

Brittany,
ReplyDeleteI agree that it is hard to decide which philosophy you relate to more as both are very important and each have their own merits. I have to correct you though as it is Marx who believes in everyone being equal, not Locke. Eventually, in their most pure forms, Libertarians would be equal, and Communists would be free, but for discussion purposes they are not the same. I also agree with you that we should treat others the way that we want to be treated.
