Blog #2

My personal principals when I entered this class were pretty basic. Do not steal, get an education, respect your elders, don’t do to other what you wouldn't want done to you, and have a good work ethic. My mother and father taught my morals to me. I do not think I really have any of my own morals; I have just adopted my parents. The one thing that I did come up with by different college classes and myself is that I am not a spiritual person. I have finally come to terms that I no longer believe that there is a "god." my mother can not accept this from me so she makes me go to church on Sundays and try to find my way. Little does she know that I am finding my way and I do not need an invisible being to guide me. With most of my morals our readings really did not have an affect except the god thing. I believe they are helping me with my journey, showing me that there are other religions. Helping me realize that it isn't wrong of me to believe something else.

  1. I can definitely relate to your post. I recently told my mom that although I do believe in a God, I do not want to take a part in any religion. She had a fit and also told me to go to church! I simply told her to stop pushing her religion down my throat and she backed off. How do you plan on dealing with your mother and your opposing views on beliefs?
